What a night! Western Living Magazine hosted a true west coast party to award 2013’s Designers of the Year. It was catered by Forage Restaurant and BC’s best wineries…in an airplane hangar! The annual competition celebrates ‘the best new designs in Western Canada, as judged by Canada’s foremost designers and architects‘, and One SEED had the honour of receiving the ‘One to Watch award for Eco-Design. The Ones to Watch are awarded to ‘rising stars and up-and-comers set to change the face of Canadian design‘. (Aw, shucks!) It was an honour to accept such a prestigious award, and to spend the evening amongst Western Canada’s top architects and designers. We would like to thank the judges for acknowledging our commitment to green and evocative design. Judge Thomas Mueller of the Canadian Green Building Council admired our projects for their ‘freshness‘ and ‘sensitivity to West Coast environmental sensibilities and style.’ Also, thanks to Western Living Magazine for supporting our unique design culture in Western Canada and creating events like these to keep us all on task!!! Now to hang that award up on our wall…
