CRAIC and Passivhaus Vancouver joined forces to host an educational and social event at the Tap and Barrel in the Olympic Village. The topic that the group tries to tackle at each meet-up is: ‘What are the building blocks of a sustainable community?” At this session, Allison from One SEED presented the Khotso Passive House, and discussed the process of designing a Passive House in the City of Vancouver. Andre Harrmann from Harrmann Consulting also presented the Khotso Passive House. He had just returned from the International Passive House conference in Germany, so it was a real treat to have a sneak peek at those slides. Great discussions followed with a diverse group that included architects, designers, builders, students, and home owners. I’m not going to complain about a night that includes good beers and good Passivhaus discussions.
