We are excited to be involved with Vancouver’s Modern Home Tour again this year. The tour is co-curated by the oh-so-talented Anicka Quin of Western Living Magazine, so it is sure to be fantastic. It is already being hyped by Houzz.com as well as The Vancouver Sun, so we hope to see lots of people come out and experience a variety of modern housing types in Greater Vancouver!

Our West End Nest Condo is smack-dab in the middle of this self-guided tour (we’re the bright red ‘A’ on the map below), so it’s an optimal location to hit up mid-day and take a quick lunch break at some of the nearby restaurants and cafes. We will be on site during the tour, with the builder Doug Pearcey from Vertical Grain Projects, to answer questions and chat with tour-goers. Buy your tickets early here and use the Promo Code ONESEED to get a $5 discount on tickets.

Other reasons to check out the West End Nest? It is an excellent example of compact living with a hyper-functional floor plan, and sneaky storage of all shapes and sizes built-in to the design of every space. Everyone loves a good before and after, so we will be playing a slideshow which documents the transformation on site. As the materials are unique, it is a great place to see a variety of finishes like concrete, oak, plywood, colourful and geometric tiles, wall paper, etc. in a harmonious palette. The lighting design brings visual interest and a soft organic appeal to each room from smoked glass vanity sconces to hand folded ceramic pendant lights. We will provide tour-goers with information on site regarding suppliers for the eye-catching design elements within the space.

Tour day considerations: the condo is located in the heart of the West End, where parking can be tricky. We advise tour-goers to enjoy a more relaxed experience by traveling by bike, foot, or transit. We are walking distance from the Skytrain, several bus routes, as well as the Aquabus and False Creek ferries.

We hope to see you on the 19th!
